Building a custom-made programme.
By proposing an original syllabus, combining a professional and a personal project, IFMA gives the student engineer the possibility of customising the course programme. They may choose between 5 orientations according to their personal project. The aim is to give each student the opportunity to decide on a career and to choose, depending on his or her professional focus, the most appropriate course programme.
Opening the programme beyond our frontiers.
The international aspect is one of the strong points of the IFMA syllabus.
These possibilities enable the student engineer to enrich his or her training with a solid international experience, undoubtedly a major advantage for their future career.
Developing scientific and technical expertise.
IFMA's vocation is to train students in mechanics and associated technologies. For this, we propose 3 academic departments:
They are split into 7 specialisations:
With its laboratories and its Technology Transfer Centre (CTT), IFMA offers an ideal working environment and real-life situations, enabling students to move quickly from theoretical courses to practical applications.
Enhancing professional experience with the world of industry.
Getting to know the world of enterprise as early as possible is essential in an increasingly competitive professional world. The IFMA engineer must be rapidly operational and in phase with the company's needs, which is why our training is oriented, from the end of the first year, towards industrial internships, each one more demanding and with more responsibility than the last.
The IFMA Foundation comprises numerous companies and represents a bridge between industry and the world of higher education.
Our invited lecturers come mainly from enterprises and industry, and transmit their professional experience in a real-life context.
Our course units are in phase with companies' expectations and closely follow technological advances, so that the IFMA engineer is immediately operational on graduating, in the short and medium term.
Deploying a double skill set: engineer / manager.
We are currently organising a double Engineer / Entrepreneur programme with the Clermont Business School, enabling students to obtain a Master's degree in management from the school in addition to their IFMA engineering diploma.
Because an engineer is not just an expert, but also and especially a human being, 28% of IFMA courses are devoted to human, social and international training. Today, more than ever, it is essential to associate technical and human skills. In an ever-changing world, the IFMA engineer must be capable of adapting rapidly to the people he or she deals with, on both the technical and the human level.
